People spend thousands of dollars on skin care products to have their skin look vibrant and glowing but all these are just topical products � products that we put on top of our skin. But if we spent just a fraction of the money we spend on these skin care products on raw food, we will begin to observe an instant change in the texture of our skin.

When you consume raw food, your body absorbs more of the important vitamins and amino acids it needs for you to have good, beautiful skin. In fact, you are also adding moisture naturally to your skin when you eat raw food. A great deal of the moisture in food is lost in the cooking process, thus raw food is a healthier choice as it provides natural moisture for your skin.

Your skin is a mirror of what goes on in your body. When your organs and blood are fed the nutrition they require to function properly, it basically shows on your skin. Eat a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables to get sufficient vitamins, fiber and minerals in your body. As you diligently add raw food to your diet, you will progressively notice your face showing a healthy glow and luminosity.

Much has been said of the efficacy of vitamin C in skin care products to lessen wrinkles. Wouldn't it be better to get it directly from natural food source? So, just what is considered a raw food diet? Well, a diet is considered a raw food diet if it comprises of at least 75% raw, uncooked fruits, vegetables, sprouts, etc. It is believed that raw and living foods have important food enzymes, which are thought to be ruined in the cooking process, i.e. heating foods above 116�F.

In general, raw diet followers use a particular method to prepare foods. These include sprouting seeds, grains and beans; soaking nuts and dried fruits; and juicing fruits and vegetables. The dehydrator - equipment that blows hot air through the food but on no account attains a temperature beyond 116�F, is the only form of cooking allowed.

You may be thinking by now if you have to adhere to the regimen so strictly? Of course not. Nonetheless, it is surely beneficial to include some of these techniques and ideas into your diet. If you have the habit of snacking at work, you may want to contemplate taking carrots or apple slices instead of a potato chip. Yes, it may not be that good a comfort food, but it undoubtedly gives you better benefits in health and achieving beautiful skin. With the convenience of pre-packed salads or sliced fruits that make it more convenient to pack and take them to work, there shouldn't be excuses for not having time to prepare raw food.

Although these are not necessary organic foods, raw food is still a better choice than cooked or processed food. If you have more time, you can buy organic food and slice them yourself. Radiant, beautiful skin begins with a balanced, nutritious and healthy diet. As the saying goes � �You are what you eat�, start incorporating raw food into your diet today and you will have beautiful skin in no time.
